Mind Power Enrichment and Experiential Learning (MEEL) Program will help build and advance your child's math skills, for an advantage in school and beyond. Each level of the MEEL Math program is designed with specific study objectives and provides a step-by-step approach which makes learning easy for everyone. Your child will work at his or her own pace and master each new concept before moving on. MEEL children master concepts that put them ahead of their peers. The MEEL Math curriculum is aligned with the State Standards, covering all major areas: Number Concepts, Measurement, Operations, Geometry, Probability, Fractions, and more.
Some of the topics covered at the different grade levels are: Counting Patterns, Comparing Numbers, Addition & Subtraction, Skip Counting (Skip Count by 5s, 10s, and 100s etc), Numeric/Standard/Expanded Form, Word Problems Involving Money, Rounding Numbers (Rounding Numbers to the Nearest Ten or Hundred etc), Multiplication, Division, Identification of Arithmetic Patterns, Reading/Writing/Adding Multi-Digit Numbers, Rounding Decimal Numbers, Constructing Expressions, Algebra, Plot Points and Draw Shapes on a Quadratic Plane, Adding & Subtracting Multi-Digit Decimals & Fraction, Multiply and Divide Fractions, Least Common Multiple, Greatest Common Factor, etc.
Yes. MEEL will help build and advance your child's math skills, for an advantage in school and beyond. Math understanding is not exclusive to an elite fleet of geniuses—virtually every child has what it takes to succeed at math.
MEEL will challenge and help your child advance and succeed. Math is the foundation for all STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields and many of our students are studying above grade level and these advanced students are introduced to new concepts earlier than at school and can experience the advantage of learning new material ahead of their peers. MEEL doesn't limit a child’s advancement and thus a sixth grader studying calculus is not uncommon.
Education is typically seen as a mechanism to reach to the end goal, i.e. crafting a career & getting a job. This is more so due to lack of a holistic learning curriculum which focuses on development through understanding and practice rather than rote-learning. This is the gap that MEEL tries to fill-in by enhancing Math learning by advancing your child’s math skills such as Number Concepts, Probability, Fractions etc.
